Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, felicitated Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Shivam Dube at his residence in Mumbai following India’s historic triumph in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The Chief Minister, accompanied by his wife Amruta Fadnavis, congratulated the players for their outstanding contribution to India’s victory and praised the team’s remarkable performance throughout the tournament.
The Mumbai Cricket Association shared photographs from the meeting on social media, calling the felicitation ‘a proud moment celebrating India’s cricketing excellence’.
Shivam Dube shared glimpses of his meeting with Devendra Fadnavis on social media, describing it as a special and encouraging moment.

Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India played fearless and dynamic cricket throughout the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, showing strong batting, disciplined bowling and sharp fielding to reach the final.
In the title clash, India defeated the New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs. The team posted 255/5 — the highest total in a T20 World Cup final — before bowling New Zealand out for 159 in 19 overs.
The victory also helped India move past the disappointment of the 2023 Cricket World Cup Final loss.
With this win, India successfully defended its T20 World Cup crown, becoming the first team in the tournament’s history to retain the title and the first nation to win the trophy on home soil.
