Maha Kumbh 2025 To Illuminate With Over 40,000 Rechargeable Lights

In a bid to ensure continuous lighting and enhance the grandeur of Maha Kumbh 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government is likely to install over 40,000 rechargeable lights across the fairgrounds in Prayagraj.

This innovative lighting solution will ensure that the event remains brightly lit even during power outages, marking a significant step toward energy efficiency and uninterrupted illumination.

The authorities will install rechargeable lights inside the camps and throughout various zones of the fair area, ensuring that thousands of devotees and visitors experience uninterrupted lighting.

In addition to the standard LED bulbs, these rechargeable lights will provide an added layer of security against power cuts, keeping the fair aglow at all hours.

Anoop Kumar Sinha, Executive Engineer in charge of the Electricity Department, highlighted the importance of the new lighting system.

He stated, “These rechargeable bulbs, which have built-in batteries that recharge during operation, will continue to work even during power failures. With over 4.5 lakh electrical connections for the camps, this new setup will prevent any area from falling into darkness, as the rechargeable bulbs will remain operational while standard lights turn off.”

Rs 2.7 Crore Initiative For Rechargeable Bulbs

The state will implement rechargeable bulbs for the first time at this massive religious event, a relatively recent innovation that has emerged in the last few years.

Authorities expect to install between 40,000 and 45,000 rechargeable bulbs, with each bulb costing between Rs 600 and 700.

The initiative will cost around Rs 2.7 crore, with authorities determining the exact number of bulbs based on the final layout of the camps.

In addition to the rechargeable lights inside the camps, the initiative also includes installing 2,000 solar hybrid lights outside the camps.

Solar-powered lights with battery backups, charged by sunlight, will function during power cuts and ensure no area remains in the dark.

These solar lights will likely provide an eco-friendly and efficient solution for outdoor lighting.

As part of the broader lighting plan, a total of 67,000 regular lights will also be installed around the fairgrounds, with large-scale backup power generators on standby to quickly restore power in the event of a failure.

The installation of these advanced lighting systems underscores the Yogi government’s commitment to ensuring that Maha Kumbh 2025 is not only a spiritual and cultural spectacle but also a modern, well-equipped, and environmentally conscious event.

The innovative approach to lighting promises to add a mystical charm to the event, with the shimmering lights casting a divine glow over the sacred confluence of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers, enhancing the atmosphere for millions of devotees expected to attend.

With over 40,000 rechargeable bulbs, solar hybrid lights, and state-of-the-art backup systems, Maha Kumbh 2025 will shine brightly, offering an unforgettable experience for visitors from around the world.
