A Record-Breaking Milestone For Women’s Health, Says Nadda As India Secures Three Guinness World Records

On Saturday, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, revealed that India has secured three Guinness World Records. The achievement, part of the nationwide Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, represents a significant step forward in preventive and women-centred healthcare.

Taking to X, Nadda, who also serves as the BJP President, said the records reflect India’s strong commitment to promoting women’s health.

“A Record-Breaking Milestone for Women’s Health! India achieves three GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™️ titles under the nationwide #SwasthNariSashaktParivarAbhiyaan, reaffirming our commitment to preventive and women-centric healthcare,” he posted.

The post further added, “Held from 17th Sept to 2nd Oct 2025 in conjunction with Poshan Maah, the campaign focused on improving health & nutrition among women, adolescent girls, and children, ensuring early detection, essential healthcare access, and empowering families for a healthier Bharat. Over 19.7 lakh health camps were organized under this campaign with a footfall of more than 11 crore people across all districts.”

Nadda described the achievement as a proud step towards building a Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar, and Viksit Bharat. He credited the success to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the spirit of Seva and Bharat First.

Inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and the spirit of Seva and Bharat First, this achievement marks a proud stride towards a Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar & Viksit Bharat!” Nadda noted.

Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan

The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Child Development. It aims to strengthen healthcare for women and children by improving access, quality, and awareness.

Designed as a Jan Bhagidaari (people’s participation) effort, the programme brings together government bodies, private hospitals, and medical professionals to ensure healthcare reaches every part of the country.

The campaign aligns with India’s broader development goals and uses platforms like Anganwadis to extend its reach. It also supports other national programmes such as Mission Shakti, which focuses on women’s safety and empowerment, and Poshan 2.0, which tackles malnutrition among women and children.

As part of the Abhiyaan, health camps offered screenings for conditions including skin disorders, hypertension, anaemia, reproductive issues, breast and cervical cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.

They also held special counselling sessions in tribal regions to promote equal access to care.

The Health Ministry said the initiative was designed to close gaps identified in national surveys and ensure timely diagnosis and treatment.

The campaign, it added, represents a major step forward in improving women’s health across both urban and rural India.
