Maha Kumbh 2025: Massive Security Arrangements As Lakhs Of Devotees Take Holy Dip

The 45-day festival, which runs from January 13 to February 26, is expected to host 45 crore people. To ensure everyone’s safety, authorities have implemented extensive security arrangements.

Prayagraj has kicked off Maha Kumbh 2025, attracting thousands of devotees on the auspicious day of Paush Purnima. The 45-day festival, which runs from January 13 to February 26, is expected to host 45 crore people. To ensure everyone’s safety, authorities have implemented extensive security arrangements.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajesh Diwedi confirmed the preparedness on Monday. “Devotees are arriving in large numbers to take a holy dip at Triveni Sangam. Meanwhile, we have secured all routes for Sadhus and pilgrims to access the ghats safely,” he stated.

Advanced Technology Enhances Security

Notably, this year’s security measures include cutting-edge technology. Underwater drones capable of diving up to 100 meters and tethered drones reaching 120 meters are monitoring the Sangam area. Furthermore, over 2,700 AI-enabled cameras with facial recognition technology are tracking crowds and key entry points in real time.

Additionally, a cyber team of 56 experts is working to prevent online threats. Help desks have also been set up at all city police stations. Moreover, intelligence squads and multiple checkpoints are screening individuals entering Prayagraj, leaving no room for error.

The Uttar Pradesh government has implemented a robust seven-tier security system. This includes eight zones, 18 sectors, 13 temporary stations, 44 permanent stations, and 33 checkpoints. To bolster security, five PAC companies, four NDRF teams, and 12 AS Check teams are on duty.

Likewise, the Water Police have been equipped with 100 diving kits, 440 lifebuoys, and over 3,000 life jackets to ensure safety along the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. Their efforts underscore the administration’s commitment to the safety of devotees.

As the festival progresses, devotees continue to perform the sacred ‘Shahi Snan.’ At the same time, the Uttar Pradesh government is branding this year’s event as a “Digital Maha Kumbh.” By blending ancient traditions with modern technology, officials aim to make this the largest spiritual gathering in Sanatan Dharma.

In conclusion, authorities remain vigilant, ensuring a safe and transformative experience for crores of devotees. The combination of cultural grandeur and advanced security highlights the festival’s global significance.
