Maha Kumbh 2025: Diplomats From 73 Countries Visit Kumbh Festival In Prayagraj

On Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warmly welcomed diplomats from 73 countries to the Maha Kumbh festival in Prayagraj, ensuring they experienced the festival’s grandeur and cultural significance firsthand.

The visiting dignitaries were given a comprehensive tour of the Maha Kumbh Nagar, including a special boat ride to the holy confluence at the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers meet.

In the evening, the CM personally met with the diplomats and briefed them on the importance of the Maha Kumbh and Prayagraj’s spiritual significance.

Significance Of Prayagraj & Maha Kumbh

During his address, Chief Minister Adityanath highlighted the global attention the Maha Kumbh festival was receiving. He expressed his pleasure that the diplomats had accepted the invitation to visit the event, acknowledging the global fascination with this monumental religious gathering.

The CM explained that many of India’s pilgrimage sites, particularly those along the banks of the River Ganga, hold immense spiritual and cultural value.

He emphasized the untapped potential for spiritual tourism in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in cities like Prayagraj, which draws millions of visitors each year. “This visit will undoubtedly be memorable for all the diplomats, and they will carry cherished experiences back to their countries,” said a government spokesperson.

Maha Kumbh: A Celebration Of India’s Cultural Heritage

The CM also described the Maha Kumbh as a reflection of India’s deep cultural heritage. Over 35 crore people have already visited the confluence for the holy dip, and by the time the festival concludes on February 26, it is estimated that 45 crore visitors will have participated in the celebrations.

Upon arriving in Prayagraj, the diplomats were welcomed by the Uttar Pradesh government at the Triveni Sangam area in Arail. They embarked on a jetty boat ride to view the Triveni Sangam, where they were educated about the significance of the confluence and its cultural and spiritual importance. Several diplomats chose to take a holy dip and drink the water from the river, calling the experience unforgettable.

Final Meeting With Chief Minister Adityanath

The diplomatic convoy concluded their tour with a visit to the auditorium at the police line within the fair area, where they were greeted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The CM’s address to the diplomats underscored the importance of cultural exchange and the potential for deeper global engagement through spiritual tourism.

This visit marked a significant milestone in promoting India’s rich spiritual heritage on the world stage, while also strengthening ties with global diplomats and showcasing the beauty and cultural diversity of Uttar Pradesh.
