MP CM Mohan Yadav Confident Over BJP’s Victory in Chhindwara, Awaits Results

MP CM Mohan Yadav expressed assurance on Monday that the BJP has effectively clinched the traditionally Congress-held seat of Chhindwara in the ongoing LS elections.

Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, expressed assurance on Monday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has effectively clinched the traditionally Congress-held seat of Chhindwara in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. He confidently stated, “Chhindwara, which was previously a challenge for us in the last two Lok Sabha elections… now I can confidently say that we have secured victory in the Chhindwara constituency; we’re simply awaiting the official results.”

Chhindwara, known as the stronghold of Kamal Nath, the Madhya Pradesh Congress unit president and former Chief Minister, has won nine times in the constituency. His wife, Alka Nath, emerged victorious here in 1996, and their son, Nakul Nath, currently serves as the Member of Parliament (MP) from the area.

In the 2014 general elections, the BJP swept 27 out of the state’s 29 Lok Sabha seats, with the Congress managing to secure victory in only two, one of which was Chhindwara, represented by Kamal Nath. In 2019, the BJP triumphed in 28 constituencies, with Nakul Nath emerging victorious from his father’s constituency, a trend that continued in this year’s elections.

During the first phase of polling last Friday, six Madhya Pradesh constituencies, including Chhindwara, cast their votes. Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the BJP’s relentless efforts until the last vote is cast, especially with the upcoming phases of the elections on April 26, May 7, and May 13.

“We are committed to securing victory in all phases of the elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s support further fuels our determination, especially when we are striving for a clean sweep of all 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh,” Yadav reiterated.
