Madhumani Tripathi Murder Case: Amarmani Tripathi, a Former UP Minister, And His Wife Will Be Released From Jail

The release of former minister Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani Tripathi, who are currently serving life sentences after being found guilty of killing poetess Madhumita Shukla, has been ordered by the Uttar Pradesh Prisons Administration department.

According to news agency ANI, the Uttar Pradesh Prisons Administration department has ordered the release of former minister Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani Tripathi, who are currently serving life sentences after being found guilty of killing poetess Madhumita Shukla.

According to the article, the Prison Administration and Reforms Department issued the directive with the governor’s approval. Amarmani and his wife, Madhumani, are both being detained at Gorakhpur Jail and will be freed upon posting a bond.

The husband and wife were sentenced to more than 20 years in prison, and their release was ordered as a result of their “good behavior and maintenance of peace,” according to jail officials, as quoted by the Hindustan Times. They were found guilty in 2003, and a court in Dehradun sentenced them to life in jail in 2007.

Case of Madhumita Shukla: On May 9, 2003, a gunman shot and killed poet Madhumita in Lucknow’s Paper Mill Colony. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) looked into the circumstances surrounding her death. For the murder of Madhumita, the Special Judge/Sessions Judge of Dehradun has sentenced Amarmani Tripathi and his wife, Madhubani Tripathi, to life in jail.
