In a post on X, the Prime Minister described the incident as heartbreaking, conveyed condolences to the bereaved families, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured. He said the local administration was extending all possible assistance to those affected.

The Prime Minister also announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured.
