Live updates on Delhi pollution: the capital wakes up to an AQI of 457

Live updates on pollution in Delhi: The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reports that the national capital’s air quality index (AQI) was 457 at 5 a.m. on Sunday. No relief from the poisonous air that the city and its surrounding regions have been breathing for the past few days is anticipated.

The Delhi government issued an order on Thursday to close all elementary schools for the days of Friday and Saturday. A decision regarding additional closures would be made on Monday. To combat the “severe” air pollution, further curbs have already been implemented in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad, all of which are part of the National Capital Region (NCR).
