The ongoing encounter, which began Monday evening, has resulted in the deaths of five security personnel, including four army soldiers and a police officer.
Meanwhile, in the past two months, the Jammu division has witnessed nearly 12 terror attacks, with terrorists employing hit-and-run tactics in the region’s mountainous areas.
In response, security agencies have however ramped up efforts, deploying the army and CRPF to strategic mountain tops to counter these threats.
