Lawrence Bishnoi Claims Responsibility For NCP Leader's Murder

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the murder of NCP leader and former Maharashtra Minister Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East on Saturday night. The 66-year-old politician was targeted around 9:30 p.m.

In a Facebook post attributed to a gang member, the group stated that the murder was motivated by Siddique’s connections to Bollywood actor Salman Khan and underworld figures Anuj Thapan and Dawood Ibrahim.

The post, signed by Shubuu Lonkar Maharashtra, claimed, “We did only what was right, honored the duty of friendship. Salman Khan, we did not want this war, but you made our brother lose his life.”

The message went on to assert that Siddique’s death resulted from his associations with Dawood and Thapan in Bollywood, politics, and property dealings. “We have no enmity with anyone. However, anyone who helps Salman Khan or the Dawood gang should be prepared.

If anyone gets any of our brothers killed, we will definitely respond,” the post continued.

As of now, the police are working to verify the authenticity of the post, which has gone viral on social media.

Arrests Made in Connection with the Murder

According to Mumbai Police, three shooters were involved in Siddique’s murder. Two suspects have been arrested: Gurmail Baljit Singh, 23, from Haryana, and Dharamraj Kashyap, 19, from Uttar Pradesh. A third suspect, Shiv Kumar, also from Uttar Pradesh, remains at large, and police suspect the involvement of a fourth individual believed to be the handler.

Sources indicated that the suspects had been monitoring Siddique for months, conducting reconnaissance on his residence and office. They reportedly received ₹50,000 each in advance for the attack, with the weapons delivered just days prior.

Siddique had maintained a close association with Salman Khan, who has previously faced threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In April, two shooters fired five rounds outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. A Mumbai Police charge sheet noted that the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi had links to the shooters involved in that incident.

Further details and official confirmation regarding the ongoing investigation are awaited.
