A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in Kedarnath has resulted in the deaths of at least three devotees and injured six others. The incident occurred between Gaurikund and Chirbasa in Kedarnath.

The Gaurikund police and the District Disaster Response Force (DDRF) team respond promptly to the incident and rescue six injure individuals, who were subsequently admit to a nearby hospital.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences on social media and stated that relief and rescue operations are ongoing at the site. He is in constant contact with the operation team and has instructed that the injured receive the best medical treatment possible.

This incident is the latest in a series of landslides trigger by heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand over the past few weeks, which have block several key highways in the state. In recent years, similar incidents result in fatalities, including a pilgrim die after being hit by a falling rock in Chauri in 2017, another pilgrim die in a landslide in Bhimbali in 2018, and three people who die due to falling rocks from a mountain last year.

The recent landslide has raised concerns about the safety of devotees and travelers in the region, and authorities are working to ensure their safety and provide necessary assistance.
