Land for Job Scam: Lalu Yadav Faces Intense 10-Hour ED Interrogation, Challenges Mount in Investigation

Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Yadav face escalating challenges as he becomes entangled in a land-for-job scam case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a rigorous 10-hour interrogation today, and Lalu Yadav emerged from the ED office late at night. Accompanied by his supporters, his convoy departed for Patna.

Sources indicate that more than 50 questions were posed to Lalu Yadav by the Enforcement Directorate, with the majority of his responses being limited to simple yes or no answers. Notably, this intense questioning unfolded the day after the establishment of the new government in Bihar, where Lalu’s party finds itself excluded, and the JDU has formed a coalition government with the BJP. The subsequent day, Monday, marked the ED’s decisive action against Lalu Yadav.

Interrogation proceedings began at 11 am

Summoned for questioning, Lalu Yadav arrived at the ED office in Patna at 11 am in the company of his daughter, Misa Bharti. The extensive question-and-answer session concluded at 9 pm, resulting in commotion outside the ED office that persisted until the late evening. Misa Bharti and her supporters were reportedly causing disruptions, with Misa standing steadfast at the ED office gate for a continuous two-hour period. During this time, she appealed to CRPF soldiers present, expressing a desire to meet her father, saying, “Let me meet Papa.”

Over a thousand supporters gathered outside the ED office during Lalu Yadav’s questioning

ED presented a list of approximately 50 questions for the prolonged interrogation of Lalu Yadav. As the questioning extended for hours, a gathering of Lalu’s supporters and RJD workers formed outside the ED office, including RJD leaders Shyam Rajak, Alok Mehta, and Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav. Meanwhile, Tej Pratap was at Rabri’s residence amid the ongoing ED interrogation of Lalu.
