After the NDA Parliamentary meeting on Tuesday, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition (LoP), for his conduct in the Lok Sabha.
Rijiju described Gandhi’s recent speech as a stark reminder to all NDA MPs to avoid similar behavior.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Rijiju condemned Gandhi’s actions, highlighting instances where Rahul Gandhi allegedly turned his back towards the Speaker, exceeded permissible speaking limits, and showed disrespect towards parliamentary decorum.
“This is something that our party MPs, NDA MPs, should not do. It is a lesson for all of us,” Rijiju emphasized.
Rijiju also shed light on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address during the meeting, where PM Modi stressed the significance of adhering strictly to parliamentary rules and procedures to effectively serve the nation as parliamentarians.
PM Modi reportedly urged MPs to prioritize national issues while effectively presenting regional concerns within the framework of parliamentary democracy.
The meeting, which commemorated Modi’s historic third-term victory, underscored the NDA’s commitment to collective progress under Modi’s leadership.
Rijiju observed that the NDA members honored Modi with a garland, symbolizing their unity and determination to advance India’s development agenda.
Furthermore, PM Modi encouraged MPs to visit the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya with their families, a museum showcasing the contributions of all former Prime Ministers to nation-building.
Rijiju further emphasized that this initiative reflects a non-partisan acknowledgment of past leaders’ efforts toward national development.
Rijiju expressed gratitude for the MPs’ participation and praised the robust coordination within the NDA, underscoring the importance of such meetings in fostering unity and alignment among coalition members.
