Fresh revelations in the investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal have revealed that he repeatedly questioned the background of his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and expressed concerns about her relationship with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary before his death.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), which cites the statement of Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, the marriage proposal came through family acquaintance Narendra Mittal, who introduced Siya as his brother-in-law’s daughter.
Since the Agarwal and Goyal families already shared extended family ties through Mittal, Ketan’s family accepted the proposal.
After meeting Siya, they approved the match, and the couple got engaged in February at Bund Garden in Pune.
The investigation revealed that Ketan first raised concerns soon after the engagement. He asked his father whether Siya’s background had been properly verified.
Vishal Agarwal assured him that Narendra Mittal had conducted all necessary checks and that there was nothing to worry about.
Satisfied with the explanation, Ketan chose not to pursue the matter further.
Ketan reportedly voiced his concerns again while the family was preparing to travel to Indonesia for a pre-wedding photoshoot.
After his passport went missing, Ketan again questioned Siya’s background, citing frequent arguments.
Later, after returning from Lohagad Fort, Ketan told his father that Siya’s phone was often busy and that she frequently mentioned Chetan Chaudhary, asking, “Is Siya having an affair?”
Police are now examining these conversations as part of the murder investigation.
