The Lonavala Rural Police plan to seek the court’s permission to conduct polygraph tests on both accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary.
Investigators believe they are still hiding key details about businessman Ketan Agarwal’s murder.
Lonavala police said the accused have not fully cooperated during questioning and may be hiding important information from investigators.
To verify their statements and uncover the truth, the police plan to seek the court’s permission to conduct polygraph tests.
On Thursday, police took Siya Goyal to her home to collect evidence and complete official documentation.
Police will seek court permission for polygraph tests after Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary’s custody ends on July 3.
Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are accused of killing Ketan Agarwal by pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort near Pune.
Police recreated the crime scene, analysed Chaudhary’s walk, and found Ketan had earlier sought a background check over his suspicions.
Police said Ketan suspected Siya and Chetan were in a relationship, but his family dismissed his concerns.
The couple got engaged in February and planned a grand November wedding.
Police alleged Siya took Ketan’s passport, cancelled their Bali trip, and later tried to push him off Lohagad Fort.
After the trip, Ketan again asked his father to check Siya’s background, saying she was often unreachable by phone.
According to police, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary allegedly murdered Ketan Agarwal on June 18.
