An alarming incident unfolded on Friday night as the convoy of Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan encountered a serious security breach when a speeding car collided with it while he was on his way to Delhi after attending an event in Noida.
The Uttar Pradesh Police acted swiftly and apprehended two individuals responsible for the collision, and an FIR has been lodged against them. According to the police, the two men were found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The speeding vehicle didn’t just collide with the governor’s convoy once but twice.
The police also took into custody a black Scorpio car, believed to be involved in the incident. The two arrested individuals have been identified as Gaurav Solanki and Monu Kumar, both residents of Ghaziabad.
Prior to the incident, Arif Mohammad Khan had attended a private function in Sector 77 at the Express Zenith Society, which falls under Sector 113 police station jurisdiction. After the event, he left for Delhi from Noida with a pilot car and an escort vehicle provided by the Noida police as part of his convoy, as per an official statement.

At approximately 10.45 pm, while the fleet was nearing the Sector 76 metro station, the driver of the black Mahindra Scorpio with registration number UP 16 DM 3155 recklessly obstructed the VIP fleet. The escort police team signalled the SUV to maintain distance from the convoy, but it ignored the warning and collided with a traffic police vehicle in the fleet, as confirmed by the police.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy stated that the two men inside the Mahindra Scorpio were immediately taken into custody by the police. The FIR lodged against them includes sections of the Indian Penal Code such as rash driving on a public road, intentionally disrupting public peace, acts done by more than one person with common intention, assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging duty, and mischief, as quoted by news agency PTI.
