The renowned Kalki Dham in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, is preparing to host its Foundation Day celebration along with a grand Phoolon Ki Holi on Thursday, February 19. Devotees have already begun arriving from various parts of the country to participate in the religious festivities.
February 19 holds significant historical importance for the temple. Two years ago, on February 19, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Shri Kalki Dham. The day icommemorated annually as the ‘Sthapna Diwas Samaroh’ (Foundation Day Celebration).
According to Dham spokesperson Pankaj Chahal, the program will commence at 11:30 am on February 19, 2026, and devotees have been invited to participate in large numbers.
Shri Kalki Dham is regarded as unique worldwide as it is the only seat dedicated to Lord Vishnu’s future tenth incarnation, Shri Kalki. The Holi celebration here is distinctive: instead of colours or mud, devotees celebrate with flowers in a symbolic and devotional manner.
Devotion, Unity And Celebration
During the festival, devotees dance to the tunes of kirtans and bhajans while showering flower petals on the deity. Rituals and yajnas are performed, praying for the early incarnation of Lord Kalki and the welfare of the world. The celebration is seen not only as an expression of devotion but also as a symbol of nation-building and social unity.
Last year, in 2025, Peethadhishwar Acharya Pramod Krishnam joined devotees in playing Phoolon Ki Holi and conveyed that Holi is a festival of love, and true love should never be hidden. The Dham also maintains a tradition of light-hearted humor, awarding playful titles such as Mahamoorkhanand and Mahamoorkh Shiromani during Holi gatherings.
