Under the aegis of Sanskar Bharati, the Kala Sankul campus in New Delhi hosted its monthly stage symposium during Navratri.
Themed ‘Navras and Navdurga: A Confluence of Emotion, Devotion, and Art’, the event featured a blend of performances and intellectual exchanges.
Padma Shri and renowned Kathak dancer Shovana Narayan, who graced the occasion as the chief guest, inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Classical Dances Mesmerise the Audience
The first performance came from Abdul Khalid, who presented the richness of Navras through a captivating Kuchipudi dance. Following him, Muskan Nagpal brought the diverse forms of Navdurga alive through her expressive Kathak recital. Both artists received thunderous applause, leaving the audience spellbound.
In her address, Padma Shri Shovana Narayan said, “Art is not merely a medium of expression; it is a bridge that connects emotions, devotion, and social consciousness. The confluence of Navras and Navdurga reflects the depth and vastness of Indian culture.” She also emphasised the significance of Durga’s forms in the field of art during Navratri.
Art lovers, students, and scholars in attendance deeply appreciated the performances. The symposium showcased not only the diversity of Indian classical dance but also the spiritual strength of Indian culture.
The Kala Sankul family of Sanskar Bharati thanked all participants, guests, and the audience. The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to continue hosting such monthly events to promote and preserve Indian art, culture, and traditions.
The program was successfully coordinated by Sneha Mukherjee, with Garima Rani hosting the stage and Shruti Sinha delivering the vote of thanks.
Key contributions came from Raj Upadhyay, convener of the stage arts department of Sanskar Bharati Delhi, senior announcer Bharti Dang, tabla maestro Pradeep Pathak, as well as Harshit Goyal, Raman Kumar, Faizi Abdul Kalam, Lavanya Sinha, Brajesh, and Satyam.
