K Kavitha, a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and member of the Telangana Legislative Council admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for medical assessments.
Her office confirmed that she recently checked into the hospital, and the doctors are likely to conclude tests on Tuesday.
Kavitha’s health has been a concern since her time in Tihar Jail, where she dealt with various medical issues, including gynaecological complications and a high fever, linked to her incarceration related to the Delhi Excise Policy case.
Prior to this hospital admission, she had undergone medical evaluations at AIIMS in Delhi for the same health issues.
The authorities released Kavitha, the daughter of BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, from Tihar Jail on 27 August after she spent over five months in custody.
The Supreme Court granted her bail in connection with corruption and money laundering allegations.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Kavitha on 15 March in Hyderabad and subsequently transferred her to Delhi.
Only Politics Is Responsible For This Situation: K Kavitha
Following her release, Kavitha expressed her emotional relief at reuniting with her family, stating, “I became emotional after meeting my son, brother, and husband today after almost 5 months. Only politics is responsible for this situation. The country knows that I was put in jail only because of politics, I did not make any mistake I will fight.”
Kavitha emphasized her determination, expressing that they are fighters who will contest the situation both legally and politically. She asserted that they have always fought and that sending them to jail illegally has only strengthened the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and K Chandrasekhar Rao’s team, making them unbreakable.
Since her release, Kavitha has chosen to spend time with her family, refraining from participating in party activities or engaging on social media.
