JP Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led a grand roadshow in Sundar Nagar, Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district, on Saturday. The expansive procession, organized from Jawahar Park to the PWD rest house in Mandi, witnessed a large crowd of enthusiastic supporters, joyously dancing and cheering as Nadda’s motorcade passed by.

Following the roadshow, Nadda inaugurated the newly constructed BJP office in Sundernagar and addressed party workers. Earlier in the day, both Nadda and Union Minister Anurag Thakur participated in a felicitation ceremony at the Municipal Council ground in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.

However, Nadda took part in the BJP’s Visit Bharat Sankalp Yatra later in the day, during which Prime Minister Modi also joined via videoconferencing.

Young party workers in Himachal Pradesh added energy to the atmosphere with lively dancing and chants of ‘Vote For Nadda Ji.’ Amid the cold winds on Saturday morning, Jagat Prakash Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led a lively roadshow atop a car, making a flamboyant entrance in his home state. With the BJP winning three critical Assembly elections on the path to Lok Sabha 2024, Nadda aims to make a significant impact.

Nadda to spend his weekend in Himachal Pradesh

Nadda returned to Himachal Pradesh on Friday, December 15, and is scheduled to spend the weekend there. Despite the BJP’s successes nationwide, Himachal Pradesh poses challenges. The state has four Lok Sabha seats, all won by the BJP in 2014 and 2019. However, a 2021 by-election in Mandi favoured the Congress, causing the BJP to lose a key seat. The saffron party also faced defeat in the 2022 Himachal Pradesh Assembly polls. Notably, Nadda made a vibrant entrance in Mandi on Saturday.

What JP Nadda had to say in Bilaspur?

In Bilaspur a day earlier, Nadda spoke about the Modi guarantees, becoming the BJP’s slogan for the Lok Sabha polls. He contrasted a Congress guarantee, often unfulfilled, with a Modi guarantee, emphasizing its commitment. With the elections a few months away, BJP candidates for Himachal are yet to be decided. Anurag Thakur may retain Hamirpur, a stronghold for him and his family, as reported by Times Of India. The Congress, aiming for a change, might rely on Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, especially in Hamirpur, a seat they have lost eight consecutive times.

JP Nadda, an adept swimmer familiar with the political waters of Himachal Pradesh, continues to lead the BJP’s aspirations until the 2024 polls, despite the party’s recent setback in the state’s Assembly polls. This time, the former MP from Bilaspur is determined to turn the tide.
