Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda on Thursday reaffirmed the Centre’s unwavering commitment to supporting flood and cloudburst-affected families in Arunachal Pradesh.

After inspecting the worst-hit areas of Keyi Panyor district, Nadda assured that the Central government would provide every possible assistance for relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Union Minister, who also holds the Chemicals and Fertilisers portfolio, visited Arunachal Pradesh a day after assessing the flood situation in Assam and Nagaland. He said the Centre would work closely with the state government to ensure timely relief, financial aid and comprehensive rehabilitation for affected families.

Later, Nadda chaired a high-level review meeting in Itanagar with Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Ministers, MLAs and senior officials.

The meeting reviewed flood damage, assessed losses to infrastructure and property, and focused on accelerating relief operations through stronger Centre-state coordination.

In a post, Nadda said he had directed all concerned departments to intensify relief, rehabilitation and healthcare measures. He assured affected families that the Central government would leave no stone unturned in restoring normalcy.

The Minister expressed condolences to families who lost loved ones in the disaster and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured and affected.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Members of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland and assured continued Central support to tackle the flood crisis.

Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Shivraj Singh Chouhan also conducted extensive surveys and pledged comprehensive assistance, including compensation for damaged homes, crops, farmland and livestock, alongside long-term measures to strengthen disaster resilience.
