JH CM Hemant Soren Transfers Rs 2,500 To Over 56 Lakh Women

On Monday, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren transferred Rs 2,500 each as the December installment under the ‘Maiya Samman Yojana’ to the bank accounts of over 56 lakh women across the state. To mark this significant occasion, a grand event was organized at Namkum Khojatoli Ground in Ranchi, where approximately two lakh women from various parts of Jharkhand gathered.

During the event, CM Soren highlighted the importance of this initiative in empowering women financially. With a simple press of a remote button, he transferred a total of Rs 1,415.44 crore to the bank accounts of 56,61,791 women under the scheme. The government originally launched the initiative five months ago with a monthly installment of Rs 1,000. However, it increased the amount to Rs 2,500 per month following a Cabinet decision ahead of the election announcement.

A Step Toward Financial Self-Reliance For Women

In his address to the gathering, CM Soren emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the financial self-reliance of women. “This initiative is a significant step toward making women financially self-reliant,” he said. “I am pleased to fulfill the promises made by our government before the elections.”

CM Soren further stressed the importance of gender equality in the broader context of the state’s development. “The vision of holistic development cannot be realized unless men and women walk shoulder to shoulder,” he stated. He added that the initiative aims to bring women to the forefront and empower them, highlighting the government’s vision of inclusive growth.

Soren took the opportunity to respond to criticism from the Opposition regarding the scheme’s funding. “When we started with Rs 1,000 per month, we were ridiculed. When we announced the increase to Rs 2,500, the Opposition questioned its feasibility. Today, we have proved them wrong,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister encouraged women to actively participate in the state’s development, emphasizing the importance of small savings for securing their children’s future. He also urged women to utilize the funds to address malnutrition in their households. “Use this money to secure the future of your children and combat malnutrition,” he advised.

Gratitude To Women For Their Support

CM Soren expressed his gratitude to women for their overwhelming support during the elections. “We have formed the government with your blessings, and our priority is to ensure your self-reliance and development,” he concluded.

The event also featured speeches by prominent figures such as Jharkhand’s Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, Minister Chamra Linda, and MLA Kalpana Soren, who all voiced their support for the scheme and its impact on the women of the state.
