Security and Surveillance Measures

State Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar reported that all polling booths are under constant surveillance via webcasting. High-definition cameras monitor both the interior and exterior of each booth. Of the 15,344 polling stations, 12,716 are in rural areas, and 2,628 are in urban areas. Notably, 1,152 polling stations are fully operated by women; 23 booths are managed by young volunteers, and 24 booths by differently-abled workers.

Unique Booths to Highlight Local Culture

In 15 districts, 50 booths have been designed as unique attractions to engage voters and celebrate local heritage. For example:

– The Chipbandidih booth in Tamar, Ranchi, features a tribal theme.
– Girls High School Bariatu displays a hockey theme.
– Saint Columbus College in Hazaribagh, recognized as the oldest polling station, is classified as a unique booth.
– The Cantonment Council Upgraded Middle School in Patratu, Ramgarh, is decorated as a traditional hut, while the Upgraded Middle School Uchringa promotes a tourism theme.
– State Sponsored +2 High School in Gola showcases a farming theme.
– Upkramit Uchch Vidyalaya Lawalong in Chatra features a de-addiction theme.
– Booths in Bokaro and Saraikela highlight Chhau dance, complete with Chhau dance decorations.

This cultural integration at polling stations aims to enhance voter experience and participation while celebrating Jharkhand’s rich heritage.
