144th foundation day of Zap 1 celebrated in Ranchi
The 144th Corps Foundation Day of Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) Ranchi unfolded at the JAP 1 Ground in Ranchi, the capital city. Serving as the chief guest, the Additional Director General of Police, Jharkhand Armed Police, Ranchi, inaugurated the event, including a poignant wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyr Memorial. The festivities comprised a parade, cultural presentations, and a Khukri drill by the dedicated corps soldiers.
Post-ceremony, the Anand Mela commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. This four-day fair showcased diverse stalls, featuring items from Nepal, Darjeeling, Himachal, Dehradun, and Sikkim. The fairgrounds bustled with the rich cultural tapestry of these regions.

The chief guest underscored the corps’ remarkable history, noting its pivotal roles during World War events and the 1947 Partition. Recognizing the expanded regiment size, plans are underway to establish an additional campus, reflecting the ongoing growth and significance of the Jharkhand Armed Police. This celebration not only honoured the past achievements of the corps but also marked a promising step towards its future development.
