Jaanta Raja Draws Crowds In Ghaziabad; Free Entry Announced For October 28

The grand theatrical production Jaanta Raja, based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, drew large crowds to Suncity, Ghaziabad, on Monday. Visitors from Meerut, Moradabad, Hapur and nearby districts attended the fifth day of the event.

Organised by Divya Prem Seva Mission, the production aims to support the organisation’s social welfare initiatives. More than 60 buses arrived from Meerut alone, carrying schoolchildren and engineering students.

The venue glowed with mobile phone lights as audiences paid tribute to Shivaji Maharaj at the request of mission president Dr Ashish Gautam.

Several prominent figures from politics, literature and journalism attended the programme. They included writer Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Pal, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha national general secretary Harshvardhan Singh, senior journalist Prem Shukla and Sudarshan News editor Suresh Chavhanke.

Addressing the audience, Sahasrabuddhe outlined three reasons to watch Jaanta Raja. He stressed the importance of understanding Shivaji Maharaj’s historical contribution, leadership and administrative skills. He said the Maratha ruler restored public confidence during a period of foreign invasions.

Dr Ashish Gautam said the mission runs schools, hostels and a medical college to support children of leprosy patients and underprivileged communities. The organisation operates more than 30 service projects.

It began its work at Chandi Ghat in Haridwar on January 12, 1997, and continues to function without government assistance.

Organising committee convener Vinay Chaudhary announced free entry for the final performance on October 28. Visitors will not need tickets or entry passes. The organisers will serve food prasad after the show.

On October 27, the production will welcome audiences from Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Saharanpur, Dehradun and Uttarakhand.
