Liechtenstein Prince Arrives In Delhi; To Hold Talks With PM Modi

Liechtenstein’s Hereditary Prince Alois arrived in New Delhi on Monday during his State Visit to India. Union Minister of State Jayant Singh received him at the airport after he visited Vadodara, Gujarat.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the visit would strengthen India-Liechtenstein relations. Singh welcomed the Prince and expressed interest in expanding cooperation between the two countries.

Prince Alois arrived in Mumbai on Sunday at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was accompanied by his wife, Princess Sofia, along with a high-level official and a business delegation.

Prince Alois will receive a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday. He will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

The Prince is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with PM Modi at Hyderabad House. Discussions will cover trade, investment, science, technology, innovation and people-to-people exchanges.

The leaders will also exchange views on regional and global developments.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Skills Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary will call on the visiting Prince. He will later meet President Droupadi Murmu, who will host an official banquet in his honour.

This is Prince Alois’s second visit to India in 2026. He visited New Delhi in February for the AI Impact Summit and previously travelled to India in 2010 and 2018.

The MEA said the visit would deepen bilateral ties and create new partnerships. It highlighted the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement, which became operational in 2025, as an important part of the growing economic engagement.
