It’s raining! Heavy Rain & Thunderstorms In Delhi; Maximum Temperature May Fall

Rain and thunderstorms lashed the national capital on Wednesday evening as a result of a western disturbance affecting northwest India. “Winds of up to 40 kilometres per hour raged through the city,” said IMD.

The IMD had previously forecast rain and cloudy weather beginning Wednesday night as a result of the new western disturbance.

Kuldeep Srivastava, the head of the IMD’s regional forecasting centre said, “There is enough moisture available in northwest India due to the western disturbance and the temperatures have also risen over the last few days. So, the conditions are conducive for such activity”.

The minimum temperature in Delhi was 16.2 degrees Celsius, and the day is expected to be partly cloudy. The highest temperature recorded was 33.6 degrees Celsius.

Cloudy skies, light rain, and thunderstorms are expected during the next three to four days, with the most activity expected on Friday.

Over the next three days, the maximum temperature is expected to fall by three to four degrees Celsius.

Last week, back-to-back western disturbances across northwest India brought rain and hail to numerous sections of the region, including the national capital.
