In a serious security breach on Friday morning, a man managed to enter the Parliament House complex by climbing a tree and scaling the boundary wall.

Sources said the incident took place at around 6:30 AM.

The intruder reportedly jumped over the wall from the Rail Bhavan side and reached the Garuda Gate of the new Parliament building.

Alert security personnel at the complex quickly caught him and placed him under interrogation.

Officials, however, confirmed that efforts are underway to establish his identity, motives, and the method by which he evaded multiple security layers in one of the nation’s most heavily guarded zones.

Authorities are now reviewing CCTV footage to piece together the sequence of events, while agencies are probing possible lapses in security protocols.

The incident comes just a day after the Monsoon Session of Parliament concluded.

The session, which began on 21 July, lasted a month and saw 21 business sittings.

This is not the first such breach. Last year, a man in his early 20s jumped over the Parliament wall into the Annexe building premises.

A video later surfaced showing him being restrained by CISF personnel, though nothing suspicious was found on him.

In December 2023, a more alarming breach occurred on the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament attack.

Two men leapt from the visitors’ gallery into the Lok Sabha chamber during proceedings, releasing yellow smoke canisters. They were overpowered by MPs and handed over to security.

The accused were identified as Sagar Sharma (25) from Lucknow and Manoranjan D. (35) from Mysore.
