Internet Services Suspended; Schools And Colleges Closed In Haryana Over “Intense Communal Tension”

Haryana violence: Internet Services has been suspended in the Nuh district of Haryana amidst the situation of violence in the region. The same will be till the 2nd of August, making it two days without the internet. Also, the schools and colleges will remain closed in Gurugram and Faridabad over the serious condition in the state.

The clashes broke out in the early part of Monday. Some miscreants did stone pelting and even set cars on fire during a religious procession in the Nuh district. 2 home guards died in the course of events. Also, over 200 people got injured in the violence. The procession was carried by Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad. As per the police authorities, the situation is under control, still precautionary measures are being taken so that the situation doesn’t get worse

Internet cut-off over violence in Haryana

Mobile internet access has been disabled in Nuh, Haryana, until Wednesday in order to calm the “intense communal tension”. Additional Chief Secretary (Home) T V S N Prasad said, “…This order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of district Nuh and shall be in force with effect from 4 pm, July 31 to 23:59 hours of August 2.”

Schools and colleges shut down

As a preventative measure in light of the violence that erupted earlier in the day in Nuh after a mob of miscreants pelted stones and set cars on fire during a religious procession, the Haryana government announced on Monday night that all schools and colleges in Gurugram and Faridabad would be closed on Tuesday.

The office of the District Magistrate released an order saying, “All educational institutions including schools, colleges, and coaching centers will remain closed on Tuesday to avoid any untoward incidents. We urge all educational institutions to strictly adhere to these orders.”
