Honouring Ahilyabai Holkar & Women’s Empowerment
Speaking on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar, often celebrated as a symbol of women’s empowerment, Dr Sharma drew a parallel to the achievements of Lucknow’s current mayor.
“It is a matter of pride that on the day we celebrate the birth of a great administrator like Ahilyabai Holkar, we also mark two successful years of Mayor Sushma Kharkwal’s tenure,” he said.
He lauded Mayor Kharkwal for her strong connection with the public and her effective administration, describing her as a ‘capable and people-centric leader’ guided by senior leaders like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Recalling the contributions of stalwarts like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Lalji Tandon, Dr Sharma said that Lucknow is a city shaped by visionary leaders.
He noted that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh continues to carry forward this developmental vision.
Dr Sharma stressed that unity within the organisation is the key to success.
“The BJP respects its senior members and moulds new ones according to its ideology- that is what gives the organisation its strength,” he said.
He praised Urban Development Minister AK Sharma for his efforts in the ongoing development of Uttar Pradesh, and lauded State BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary for effectively uniting party workers and strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level.
Concluding his address, Dr Sharma reminded attendees that positions in politics are temporary, but the work done while in office defines a person’s legacy and societal respect.
