Amidst discussions surrounding seat-sharing alliances within the ‘INDIA’ coalition political grouping, reports suggest that leaders at the forefront of these negotiations are also deliberating on a potential power-sharing arrangement for the country’s top post should the alliance emerge victorious in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
Sources close to these negotiations, speaking anonymously, revealed that a proposal for a rotational Prime Ministership, allotting one year to each top leader of participating political parties based on their respective Lok Sabha seat count, is under consideration.
While seat-sharing discussions within the INDIA alliance have faced hurdles in certain states, notably West Bengal, tensions have surfaced in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency where two coalition members, Rahul Gandhi of the Congress and Annie Raja of the Communist Party of India, find themselves contesting against each other.

However, insiders assert that these pre-poll tensions are expected to be resolved should the INDIA alliance secure a significant victory over the incumbent NDA alliance led by Prime Minister Modi.
“We need to lay the groundwork now. The INDIA alliance must project a unified leadership in the event of a post-BJP scenario,” emphasized one source.
As negotiations continue, the alliance remains focused on solidifying its strategy and addressing internal challenges to present a formidable alternative to the ruling party. (ANI)
