A single bullet wound to the head was discovered on the body of the Indian Army soldier who was abducted and slain in Manipur.
According to officials, a soldier from the Indian Army was found dead on Sunday in the Imphal East region of Manipur’s Khuningthek village.
According to them, he was recognised as Sepoy Serto Thangthang Kom of the Defence Security Corps (DSC) platoon of the Army in Leimakhong in the Kangpokpi district.
According to officials, he was from Tarung in Imphal West.
Officials claim that Sepoy Kom, who was on leave, was kidnapped from his residence at around 10 a.m. on Saturday by unidentified armed individuals.
“While on leave in Tarung, Happy Valley, Imphal West, an Indian Army soldier named Sep Serto Thangthang Kom (41), was kidnapped and ultimately assassinated by three unidentified criminals. At DSC Platoon, Leimakhong, Manipur, he was stationed. The Public Relations Officer (PRO) and spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Nagaland, Manipur, and the rest of Arunachal Pradesh stated on X that he is survived by his wife & two children.

The only witness to the incident, a 10-year-old boy, claimed that three men broke into their home as his father and he was working on the porch.
Officials cited his son as saying that “the armed men placed a pistol on the Sepoy’s head and forced him into a white vehicle before fleeing the scene.”
“Sepoy Kom was unknown until early Sunday morning. His body was discovered at Khuningthek village, east of Mongjam under Sogolmang PS in Imphal East, at around 9.30 am. His brother and brother-in-law, who reported that the soldier suffered a single bullet wound to his head, confirmed his identity, the authorities said.

Sepoy Kom is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
Officials stated that the final rites would be performed in accordance with the family’s wishes and that the army had dispatched a team to help the grieving family.
