In J&K’s Poonch, Army Launches Probe Into Deaths Of Three Civilians

On December 22, the three civilians, ages 27 to 42, were discovered dead.

Following the December 21 ambush by unidentified terrorists in Poonch that resulted in the deaths of four Army jawans, the three civilians were reportedly picked up by the Army for interrogation.

On December 22, the three civilians, ages 27 to 42, were discovered dead.

According to their relatives and political leaders, the three died as a result of “custodial torture” because they were among the eight individuals the Army detained and interrogated.

According to the aforementioned sources, a comprehensive inquiry into civilian deaths has been mandated as part of standard operating procedures. The Jammu and Kashmir police are also probing the deaths.

The Army on Saturday said it stands committed to extending “full support and cooperation” in the conduct of the investigation.
