Entire World Wholeheartedly Praised India’s Capabilities, Says PM Modi On AI Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday described Artificial Intelligence as a civilisational shift comparable to historic turning points in human history, saying its full impact is only beginning to unfold.

Addressing the ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’ at Bharat Mandapam, he said the world’s largest AI Impact Summit is being hosted in a country that represents one-sixth of humanity.

The Prime Minister underlined that India is home to the world’s largest youth population, a vast pool of technology talent and a rapidly expanding tech-driven ecosystem. He noted that the country not only develops new technologies but also adopts them at an unprecedented pace.

Stating that 140 crore Indians are ready to embrace emerging technologies, he welcomed heads of governments, global AI leaders and innovators attending the summit.

He highlighted the strong participation of young people, observing that while new technologies often face scepticism, AI has been embraced with unusual speed and trust by the global youth, who are taking ownership of its possibilities.

He also pointed to the enthusiastic response to the summit’s exhibition, especially from young innovators presenting solutions in agriculture, security, assistance for divyangjan and multilingual services. These innovations, he said, reflect the strength of Made in India capabilities in AI.

Human-Centric AI Future

PM Modi said AI is not only making machines intelligent but is also significantly expanding human capacity. He cautioned that while AI can disrupt if left directionless, it becomes a powerful solution when guided responsibly, stressing that control must remain with humans.

Comparing AI to GPS that suggests routes while leaving decisions to users, he said the path humanity chooses today will shape the future. He added that AI will create higher-value, creative roles, making skilling, reskilling and lifelong learning essential for an inclusive, trusted and human-centric future of work.
