All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has issued a challenge to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, urging him to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Hyderabad instead of Wayanad. Owaisi made this statement while addressing a public gathering in his parliamentary constituency, Hyderabad.

Owaisi emphasized that the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, was demolished during the rule of the Congress party. He said, “I am challenging your leader (Rahul Gandhi) to contest elections from Hyderabad and not Wayanad. You keep making big statements; come to the ground and face me. People from the Congress may say a lot of things, but I am ready…Babri Masjid and the Secretariat’s mosque were demolished during the Congress regime…”

The rivalry between the Congress and AIMIM is intensifying in Telangana as both parties are gearing up for the upcoming state Assembly elections scheduled later this year.

Earlier this month, Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the Vijayabheri Sabha in Telangana’s Tukkuguda, asserted that the BJP, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and AIMIM are working together in Telangana, and his party is challenging this alliance.

“In Telangana, the Congress party is not fighting against BRS but with BRS, BJP, and AIMIM combined. They may call themselves different parties, but they are working together unitedly,” Rahul Gandhi had stated.

Rahul Gandhi also claimed that there are no CBI or ED cases against Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao or AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, implying that they enjoy favorable treatment from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.

With the Telangana Assembly polls approaching, all political parties are actively campaigning. The ruling BRS has announced its list of candidates, while the Congress has unveiled its “six guarantees,” promising to fulfill them if voted into power. The political landscape in Telangana is heating up as parties vie for dominance in the upcoming elections.
