Hyderabad Seminar Explores National Unity Through ‘Ek Qaum, Ek Watan’ Initiative

Hyderabad will host a high-profile seminar, ‘Ek Qaum, Ek Watan – Hindustan’, this Saturday, aimed at promoting national unity and shared identity.

The event is organised under the banner ‘Hindustan First, Hindustani Best’. It brings together leaders, scholars, and social workers to deliberate on the principles of inclusive patriotism and collective progress.

Organisers will hold the seminar on 13th December at 10:30 AM in the auditorium of the PGRR Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University.

The choice of venue, located within a historic university campus, underscores the event’s intellectual and cultural ambitions. At its core, the gathering seeks to reinforce India’s identity as one nation and one homeland.

Diverse Voices on a Single Platform

The event’s strength lies in its eclectic speaker line-up. The chief guest, Dr Indresh Kumar, Margdarshak of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), highlights the seminar’s focus on fostering dialogue between different communities within a framework of national unity.

Guests of honour include Prof (Dr) Shahid Akhter, Officiating Chairman of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI). Janab Syed Ali Zaki Hussaini, Karnataka State President of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council, is also among the guests of honour. Their presence adds both institutional and spiritual perspectives to the discussions.

Other speakers include Dr Majid Ahmed Talikoti, an oncology surgeon. Col Tahir Mustafa, Registrar of Jamia Hamdard, will also address the seminar. Prof PF Rahaman, former Vice-Chancellor of Dr Abdul Haq Urdu University, adds an academic perspective, reflecting a balance of professional and social viewpoints.

The seminar notably platforms Muslim scholars and professionals, encouraging dialogue on citizenship, belonging, and India’s plural identity. The gathering seeks to foster conversation rather than impose a single viewpoint, at a time when people are intensely debating narratives around nationalism and community identity.
