GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has become India’s first airport, which has an AI-powered digital twin platform with an advanced Airport Predictive Operation Centre (APOC). This smart system has enabled Artificial Intelligence, perspective analytics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to streamline airport operations and make passenger experiences better.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the APOC system on Wednesday. He hailed the system as a ‘game changer’ for India’s aviation sector. Adding to this, he further called attention to passenger satisfaction, improved efficiency, and safety, and how essential such advanced systems are.
Ram Mohan Naidu expressed his contentment, “I’m very happy to be here at Hyderabad Airport for the launch of the predictive operation centre by GMR Group, a technological breakthrough in airport operations. Hyderabad, handling 34 million passengers annually, is growing as a major destination.”
How Does the APOC Work?
The APOC merges the real-time data from IoT sensors monitoring over 40 parameters, creating a unified system that covers airside, landside, and terminal operations. This enables quick decision-making, following the smooth passenger flow, and enhances the overall airport functionality.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan explained the significance of this innovation. He said, “By integrating real-time data from passengers, operations, and airlines, they are optimising airport functions.” “This system, entirely designed in India, aligns with the Prime Minister’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ vision. With this, we will be building many such airports in the future.” added Ram Mohan Naidu.”

Expansions Across GMR-Operated Airports
With its success at Hyderabad Airport, GMR Airport plans to deploy the digital twin platform at Delhi Airport in the coming months. This step is part of a larger initiative to establish the system as a standard operating model across all GMR-operated airports.
