HM Shah Promises 24/7 Power, Schools, And Health Centres In Every Chhattisgarh Village By 2031

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed thousands at the historic Muria Durbar in Jagdalpur on Saturday, outlining a sweeping plan to modernise rural infrastructure and social welfare across Chhattisgarh by 2031.

Shah declared that every village will receive round-the-clock electricity, government schools, primary health centres, and civil health facilities.

“The people of Chhattisgarh will have bank accounts and they will receive monthly instalments of the Mahtari Vandan Scheme,” Shah announced, underscoring the government’s commitment to financial inclusion and women’s empowerment.

The Muria Darbar, a traditional tribal council held during the 75-day Bastar Dussehra festival, provided a symbolic backdrop for Shah’s announcements.

Dating back to 1876, the Darbar historically allowed tribal elders to present grievances and suggestions to ruling authorities. Today, it serves as a democratic platform for dialogue between government leaders and tribal communities.

Shah’s presence at the Darbar signified respect for tribal customs while highlighting the government’s focus on inclusive development.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and senior officials joined him, participating in the event alongside Majhis and community representatives.

Strengthening Social Welfare

Shah outlined initiatives to provide every village with electricity and ensure that every child receives education and basic healthcare.

Every citizen will be provided with a ration card, Aadhaar card, and bank account. Each beneficiary will receive five kilograms of free food grains, reinforcing efforts to combat hunger and improve nutrition in tribal and rural regions.

The government will digitally transfer ₹606.94 crore to 6.5 million women beneficiaries under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. This initiative demonstrates its focus on targeted social welfare and the empowerment of women.

The state and central governments will implement these measures through coordinated efforts, leveraging digital platforms and grassroots outreach.

Shah’s announcements signal a comprehensive long-term strategy to drive infrastructure development, digital inclusion, and social equity across Chhattisgarh, particularly in its tribal heartlands.

The 2031 roadmap promises transformative impacts on electricity access, education, healthcare, and nutrition.

These initiatives aim to integrate remote tribal regions into mainstream development, creating a more equitable and empowered Chhattisgarh. They also seek to foster prosperity across the state, reinforcing the government’s commitment to Jan Bhagidari and inclusive growth.
