PM Modi Lauds ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ Initiative As A Model Of Jan Bhagidari

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ campaign, describing it as a remarkable example of Jan Bhagidari, or people’s involvement.

Launched on his birthday, September 17, and concluding on Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, the initiative aimed at strengthening women’s health while empowering families across India.

During the two-week campaign, more than 6.5 crore women were screened through nearly 18 lakh health camps nationwide.

Healthcare workers conducted over 62.6 lakh antenatal check-ups and administered essential vaccinations to more than 1.43 crore children. This marked India’s largest-ever health outreach programme for women and children.

Strengthening Families Through Health

PM Modi emphasised that the initiative not only addressed medical needs but also highlighted the importance of women’s well-being as the cornerstone of strong families.

Reposting Union Health Minister JP Nadda’s post on X, PM Modi said, “Commendable effort! Compliments to those who have worked on the ground to make it so impactful and beneficial to our Nari Shakti. This is a great example of Jan Bhagidari to improve lives.”

The campaign mobilised an extensive network of healthcare facilities, including AIIMS, other Institutes of National Importance (INIs), tertiary care hospitals, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, medical colleges, and private institutions.

Thousands of speciality camps provided advanced screening, diagnostics, counselling, and treatment services, complementing efforts by state governments and community health workers.

JP Nadda highlighted that the campaign’s success reflects the nation’s shared commitment to prioritising women’s health.

“This extraordinary achievement reflects the nation’s collective resolve to place women’s health at the heart of strong families and thriving communities,” he stated.

PM Modi urged sustaining this momentum by encouraging regular health check-ups and spreading awareness about preventive care.

The success of ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar’ sets a benchmark for future public health initiatives, demonstrating how community participation can drive nationwide impact and empower women for a healthier, stronger India.
