Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir is under construction process since August 2020. Many Indians are waiting for its Grand opening which is likely to take place in December 2023. Finally, the ground floor of Shri Ram Temple is in its final stage of construction. According to the media reports, the grand entrance gate of the temple will be decorated with gold.
Progress of the temple
Senior members of the Trust, including Nripendra Misra, Chairman, Construction Committee; the Engineering teams from Larsen & Toubro, Tata Consulting Engineers, and Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust members, recently assessed the development of the ground floor of the Shri Ram Temple. Senior bureaucrats regularly assess the work and, according to officials, real problems are being solved.
The grandeur of Shree Ram Mandir…
The temple features five Mandaps in addition to the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum): the Gudh Mandap, Rang Mandap, Nritya Mandap, Prathana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap. The five mandaps’ domes measure 34 feet broad by 32 feet long and vary in height from the courtyard by 69 to 111 feet.
Makrana marble was used to sculpt the sanctum sanctorum’s pillars, beams, ceiling, and wall coverings. The structural design of the 392 pillars took the load factor and other environmental considerations into account.
To provide longevity and durability, the material has been selectively picked, which includes 1.30 lakh cubic metres of engineering fill in the foundation, 9500 cubic meters of M-35 grade compacted concrete in a raft, 6.16 lakh cubic feet of granite in the plinth, 4.74 lakh cubic feet of Bansi-Paharpur stone in the superstructure of the temple, 14,132 CFT carved Makrana marble stone in pillars and wall cladding and 76,219 square feet high quality Makrana marble flooring.
The temple will have both internal and external lighting arrangements with in-ground up lighter, cove lighting, spot lightings, and flexible linear lighting for ghumat level. The external view of the temple will have projected façade lighting. The temple will have the most majestic look once it gets completed.
