A large-scale “Hindu Raksha Sankalp Yatra” was organized in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow, to protest against the atrocities committed against Hindus in Bangladesh. The event was led by BJP leader and Sarojini Nagar MLA, Dr Rajeshwar Singh, and witnessed participation from various social, political, business, and religious organizations, along with thousands of supporters from the area.
The primary aim of the yatra was to raise awareness about the ongoing violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and demand stringent action to address the issue. Protesters highlighted the plight of the Hindu community in Bangladesh, calling for international attention to their persecution.
The yatra took place on Wednesday from 1 PM to 2 PM. It began at the Vardani Hanuman Temple in Telibagh and concluded at Shani Mandir Square. Thousands of participants walked in solidarity, displaying banners, chanting slogans, and urging authorities to take concrete steps against the systematic violence faced by Hindus in the neighboring country.
Dr Rajeshwar Singh Condemns Violence Against Hindus
During the yatra, Dr Rajeshwar Singh strongly condemned the increasing violence and systematic persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. He pointed out that while Hindus constituted 30% of Bangladesh’s population in 1947, this figure has drastically declined to just 8.5% today due to decades of discrimination, violence, and forced migration.
Dr Singh also highlighted the devastating genocide of 1971, where millions of Hindus were killed or displaced, resulting in a severe demographic imbalance. He cited alarming statistics, stating that over 4,000 attacks on Hindus have been reported since 2013. More than 500 temples have been vandalized, and the kidnapping and rape of Hindu girls continue to escalate.
Dr Singh emphasized the urgent need for action to prevent further atrocities and called upon the global community to intervene. He criticized the discriminatory laws in Bangladesh that perpetuate the marginalization of Hindus and demanded accountability from the Bangladesh government for failing to protect its minority population.
Call for Justice and Awareness
The yatra served as a powerful platform to voice concerns about the safety and rights of Hindus in Bangladesh. Participants urged both Indian authorities and international organizations to advocate for the protection of minorities and push for reforms to ensure the safety of the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
The event highlighted the unity among diverse sections of society in Sarojini Nagar, coming together to demand justice and equality for persecuted Hindus across the border.
