The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) led a large-scale, multi-agency mock drill at Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi, on the night of June 27–28, 2025.
The exercise focused on preparedness for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats and anti-terror operations.
This important drill aimed to test emergency response and coordination among various security and rescue agencies.
The simulation recreated dangerous scenarios such as terrorist attacks, hostage situations, improvised explosive device (IED) explosions, and chemical contamination.
These realistic situations allowed all participating forces to evaluate their operational readiness and crisis management skills in a controlled environment.
More than 594 personnel took part in the exercise.
This included members from CISF, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), National Security Guard (NSG Black Cats), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Delhi Police, SWAT teams, Intelligence Bureau (IB), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Delhi Metro Rail Police (DMRP), Delhi Civil Defence, Fire and Emergency Services, Medical Response Teams, and Delhi Traffic Police.
The main objective of the drill was to strengthen coordination between agencies, improve decision-making under pressure, and ensure the safety of the public in crowded urban transit locations.
Metro stations like Rajiv Chowk, with heavy foot traffic daily, require stringent security measures to prevent and handle any emergencies.
CISF officials emphasised that joint exercises like this enhance national preparedness against terror threats and disaster situations.
They also build public confidence in security systems.
These drills showcase the government’s ongoing commitment to proactive, synchronised security in critical infrastructure, ensuring safe and secure travel for millions.
Such multi-agency collaboration is vital in today’s urban environment, where quick and coordinated responses save lives.
The drill at Rajiv Chowk represents a significant step toward better emergency readiness in India’s capital city.
