The High Court has rejected businessman Amit Arora’s interim bail plea. He is an accused in the Delhi Excise Policy money laundering case and had sought interim bail citing his daughter’s illness. Justice Swarnakanta Sharma dismissed the bail application, an order that was reserved by the High Court on November 7.
Senior advocate Vikas Pahwa, representing Amit Arora, argued that the applicant is seeking interim bail based on his daughter’s illness. The petitioner’s lawyer stated that his daughter is unwell, and as per medical records, she requires the care of her parents.

The lawyer mentioned that the applicant’s daughter has an Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) exam on December 2, and due to her illness, she cannot prepare for it. He added that the applicant himself is not well and has been in custody since November 29, 2022. Charges have been filed, and attention has been drawn to the case.
On the other hand, the Enforcement Directorate’s lawyer opposed the bail plea, stating that, according to medical records, the applicant’s daughter requires the care of family members. There are other family members who can take care of the petitioner’s daughter.
