Haryana Phase Of Dwarka Expressway To Be Inaugurated By PM Modi

At a ceremony in Gurugram today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially open and lay the cornerstones for 112 national highway projects throughout the nation, with a combined value of ₹1 lakh crore. The historic Haryana segment of Dwarka Expressway will be officially opened by the prime minister, according to an official statement. This will help reduce traffic congestion on National Highway-48 between Delhi and Gurugram.

Constructed at an approximate cost of ₹ 4,100 crore, the 19-km Haryana segment of the eight-lane Dwarka Expressway comprises two sections: the 10.2-km Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the 8.7-km Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. Additionally, it will offer direct access to the Gurugram Bypass and Delhi’s IGI Airport.

The prime minister will also unveil three packages of the Lucknow Ring Road, which were developed at an estimated cost of ₹ 4,600 crore in Uttar Pradesh, and the Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section of NH-16, which was developed at an estimated cost of ₹ 2,950 crore in Andhra Pradesh. The 9.6-km-long six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)-Package 3 from Nangloi-Najafgarh Road to Sector 24 Dwarka section in Delhi is one of the major projects that the prime minister will unveil.

In addition, he will open 42 other projects totaling ₹ 20,500 crore in various states around the nation, as well as the Kiratpur-to-Nerchowk section of NH-21 (two packages), which is estimated to be worth ₹ 3,400 crore in Himachal Pradesh and ₹ 2,750 crore in Karnataka.  Additionally, PM Modi will lay the groundwork for numerous national highway projects across the nation.

Fourteen packages of the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway, valued at ₹14,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh; six packages of the Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur Section of NH-748A, valued at ₹8,000 crore in Karnataka; three packages of the Shamli-Ambala Highway, valued at ₹4,900 crore in Haryana; and two packages of the Amritsar-Bathia corridor, valued at ₹ 3,800 crore in Punjab are among the major projects for which the foundation stones will be laid.

“These projects will significantly contribute towards the growth of the national highway network as well as help in boosting socio-economic growth, enhance job opportunities and promote trade and commerce in regions across the country,” according to the statement.
