Operation Sindoor: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sent a strong global message through Operation Sindoor — that any bloodshed of Indians will face strict retaliation.
He made the remarks in Uttar Pradesh after handing over appointment letters to 60,244 police constables, including 12,048 women. Shah praised the armed forces for their precision strikes that destroyed terror hubs.
Moreover, he compared PM Modi’s quick action to the Congress era, which, according to him, witnessed repeated terror attacks but no strong response.
Shah called this the era of Sashakt Bharat, highlighting progress in poverty reduction, space tech, youth skilling, urban transport, and education.
Shah promises end of Maoism by 2026
Further, Shah said the country’s internal security had improved under PM Modi.
“Earlier, Maoists operated in 11 districts. Now, they remain in only three,” he said. “Maoism will end by March 21, 2026,” he added.
Additionally, he said India would become the third-largest economy by 2027. “When PM Modi took charge, we were at 11th place,” he said.
He also listed key welfare schemes. “25 crore people have exited poverty. Crores got gas cylinders, free ration, ₹5 lakh health cover, and farmers now get ₹6,000 every year,” he stated.
BJP government cleans up police hiring process
Meanwhile, targeting the previous Samajwadi Party government in UP, Shah said law and order had collapsed before 2017. “Goons ruled the state. Now, under Yogi Adityanath, criminals don’t get VIP treatment,” he said.
In addition, he accused the SP government of blocking reforms. “For three years after PM Modi took charge, UP Police couldn’t benefit from central efforts due to SP’s hurdles,” he claimed.
Lastly, Shah praised the transparent recruitment of constables. “No Kharchi-Parchi. No caste-based hiring. All 60,244 were selected on merit,” he said. He expressed pride in the appointment of 12,048 women constables through a clean process.
