Harda Factory Blast: 30 Injured Six Dead As a Fire Broke Out In Factory

Several injured in the blast are in critical condition, soon after the blast the injured were rushed to the hospital to receive medical aid.

After a fire broke out inside a firecracker factory in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda, Six people died reportedly and 60 were injured. The big erupting flames caused several explosions and sparked panic among the public in the nearby areas.

Several injured in the blast are in critical condition, soon after the explosion injured were rushed to the hospital to receive medical aid. People who were near the adjoining Seoni Malwa area in Narmadapuram district said they experienced tremors.

Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh’s CM spoke to officials and sought details about the explosion. A video surfacing shows large flames and smoke blowing from the factory. People in the nearby area fled the place out of terror.

“A devastating incident took place in Harda…more than 50 ambulances were sent to the location of the blast,” said the CM.

He further added, ” At hospitals in Indore, Bhopal, and neighboring areas, teams of doctors have been deployed.”

“The injured in the blast will be provided with free treatment and the families affected would receive Rs. 4 Lakh from the government,” said Mohan Yadav.

Fire extinguishers reached the spot and efforts to bring the flames under control are being made.

Rescue operation underway

District Collector Rishi Garg said, “The rescue operation is on. We have also called in the National Disaster Response Force.”

Around 150 workers were inside the building when the fire broke out, a factory official present on the premises claimed.

60 houses were destroyed as a result of the blast, while more than three dozen commuters were affected by the explosion.

Due to continued explosions over 100 houses have been evacuated by the authorities. The blast also engulfed a significant number.

Severely injured transferred to Bhopal

Dr. Manish Sharma, the civil surgeon in Harda, confirmed, “Six people died while over 30 were injured. The casualty and injured people will be increased.”

“The injured are getting treatment in the District Hospital and seriously injured patients are being shifted to Bhopal and Indore,” Harda Collector Rishi Garg.

Whole city engulfed with black smoke

Sanjeev Kanchan, the superintendent of police for Harda, said, “On Tuesday morning, there was a huge explosion in the factory. Black smoke engulfed the entire city. Vehicles from the fire department were dispatched to the location upon receiving the information. As of right now, the fire’s origin is unknown. Fire engines and ambulances from Harda, Betul, Khandwa, and Narmadapuram have been called.

“Devastating news was received about a fire in a firecracker factory in Harda. State minister Uday Pratap and senior officials are reaching the incident site.”

Medical colleges in Bhopal and Indore and burn units in AIIMS Bhopal have been asked to make the necessary preparations. Besides, fire brigades are also being sent from Indore and Bhopal,” CM Mohan Yadav wrote on X.

Former CM Shivraj Singh also shared his condolences

“The news of the explosion in the firecracker factory in Harda is extremely sad.

I pray to God for the well-being of all the citizens involved in this heart-wrenching accident and the speedy recovery of the injured.”
