A 29-year-old man from Gurugram died after allegedly jumping from the 43rd floor of Supernova Spira Tower in Noida’s Sector 94 on Saturday, police said.
Police identified the deceased as Sambhav Jain, a resident of Manesar in Haryana.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), Noida Zone, Manisha Singh, police received information about the incident at around 11:30 AM.
A team reached the Supernova complex, which falls under the Sector 126 police station, and identified Jain.
Police said Jain had been staying at an Airbnb accommodation in the complex and allegedly jumped from the balcony of his room. His family received news of his death, while investigators began examining the site and collecting evidence.
Officials sent the body for post-mortem examination.
Police have not yet established what led to the incident, and the investigation is continuing.
A video purportedly showing the incident has circulated on social media, although police have not confirmed the circumstances surrounding the recording.
Media reports quoted an air-conditioning mechanic who allegedly tried to stop Jain, saying that Jain mentioned being depressed before the incident.
Police have not independently verified the account.
The incident comes after another suspected suicide in Greater Noida last month.
A first-year MCA student reportedly died by suicide in his room in Sector Alpha-2, which falls under the Beta-2 police station.
The student had moved to Noida about a month earlier and was attending online classes.
