A firing incident was reported from Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area late on Monday night after unidentified men opened fire outside a gym, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place around 11 PM near ‘RK Fitness’, located on the Outer Ring Road.
According to officials, two bike-borne assailants allegedly fired two rounds in the air outside the gym before fleeing the spot.
The firing caused no injuries, and officials have not confirmed any property damage so far.
Delhi Police registered a case in connection with the firing and launched an investigation to identify the attackers and determine their motive.
Officers are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and have deployed teams to track the suspects.
Police officials are verifying a social media post that appeared soon after the incident, in which the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Individuals identifying themselves as Randeep Malik and Anil Pandit claimed in the post that they orchestrated the firing to threaten the gym’s owner.
The post threatened the owner, referenced past crimes, and expressed allegiance to Lawrence Bishnoi.
The post also named the Jitendra Gogi Mann, Hashim Baba, and Kala Rana groups.
Investigators are actively examining whether the recent US shootout, which killed two gangsters linked to Bishnoi amid a gang rivalry, connects to the Delhi firing.
Delhi Police said they will act based on findings and have reviewed security to prevent any escalation.
