GTRi’s PANGAT: Relishing and Reviving Traditional Bihari Cuisine

On the following day, May 27th, participants can look forward to a food walk and a visit to the region’s mango and litchi orchards.

The Grand Trunk Road Initiatives (GTRi), a forum dedicated to fostering a developed and prosperous Bihar, proudly presents its latest offering, ‘PANGAT: Bihar’s Biggest Culinary Dialogue.’ This exciting event will take place on Sunday, May 26th, at the Lemon Tree Premier hotel from 1:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The inauguration will be graced by Dr. S. Siddharth, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Bihar.

 

PANGAT will feature renowned chefs Manish Mehrotra, J.P. Singh, Kshitij Shekhar, and Nishant Choubey, along with Anubhav Sapra, Founder of Delhi Food Walks, and other culinary enthusiasts as key attractions. The event will include three technical sessions where these celebrity chefs will delve into discussions on Bihar’s lost recipes, the reasons why Bihari cuisine has not become mainstream, and the elements that constitute a perfect Bihari Thali. The sessions will be followed by a specially curated Bihari Thali.

Aditi Nandan, Curator of GTRi, highlighted the event’s objective, stating, “Through this event, we aim to promote our traditional Bihari Thali across the country. We also seek to raise awareness among the younger generation about our rich food heritage, which is increasingly fading away, and work towards its preservation.”
